SF Selection Train Up

This course is designed to give candidates the best possible chance of success in Special Forces Selection. It focuses on developing the whole person—physically, mentally, and tactically—ensuring that participants are fully prepared to meet and exceed the challenges of the Selection process.

Topics

Physical Preparation (6 hrs)

  • Physical Fitness Training:

    • Cardiovascular conditioning

    • Strength and endurance training

    • Flexibility and mobility exercises

  • Rucking and Load-Bearing:

    • Proper ruck marching techniques

    • Load management and injury prevention

    • Training plans for increasing ruck weight and distance

  • Obstacle Course Navigation:

    • Techniques for climbing, crawling, and traversing obstacles

    • Building upper body and grip strength

    • Overcoming fear and building confidence

  • Swimming and Water Confidence:

    • Basic swim strokes and techniques

    • Underwater swimming and breath-holding drills

    • Water rescue and survival skills

Mental and Psychological Preparation (2 hrs - 8 hrs)

  • Resiliancy Training:

    • Stress inoculation techniques

    • Building resilience and perseverance

    • Coping strategies for fatigue and adversity

  • Teamwork and Leadership:

    • Developing effective communication skills

    • Understanding team dynamics

    • Leadership principles and decision-making under pressure

  • Situational Awareness and Adaptability:

    • Enhancing observation and situational awareness

    • Adapting to rapidly changing environments

    • Problem-solving and critical thinking exercises

Tactical Skills and Knowledge (8+ hrs)

  • Land Navigation:

    • Map reading and compass use

    • Terrain association and route planning

    • Night navigation techniques

  • Equipment Preparation:

    • Ruck Packing

    • Foot Care

    • Lashing and Problem Solving

Specialized Training and Final Preparation (hrs vary)

  • Fitness Assessment and Testing:

    • Mock physical fitness tests to gauge readiness

    • Individualized feedback and improvement plans

    • Techniques for improving test performance

  • Mock Selection Scenarios:

    • Simulated tasks and challenges similar to those in Selection

    • Hydration strategies for training and Selection
